About International Student Housing Support
Our Responsibility
As the Housing Support Services team, it is our job to help guide and educate you about the process of finding safe and affordable housing in Toronto and the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) while studying here at triOS. Our responsibilities include connecting you to landlords, answering questions about your role as a renter and ensuring that you understand your rights as a tenant in the area.
What To Expect
When you are ready to apply for off campus housing, go to the application page and select the correct campus. From there you will be directed to the application form. The corresponding Housing Coordinator will then take that information and send you listings that fit your criteria. This will be a back-and-forth process as you work with your coordinator to narrow down what is right for you.
Your Responsibility
As a tenant here in Ontario it is important to know that you also have a responsibility to educate yourself about the rights and responsibilities as a renter. As international students you are prime targets to be taken advantage of and protecting yourself is important. We guide you through the rental process but you as a student are responsible for seeing it through!
Now It's Your Turn!
Be proactive about your housing search. Housing is your responsibility as a student. Use our guides as a way to educate you on what to and what not to do. Make sure you follow the guidelines and checklists provided for you under Student Support. Check out our Housing Partners to see what is available, but don't be afraid to reach out for help. We are here to help you, serve you, and ensure that your experience here on our campuses is as enjoyable as possible.
